ACTS Classes

A.C.T.S. Classes offer opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible and topical studies. Membership is not required to participate, and child care is provided on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm. There is no charge for most classes (check course description), but required workbooks may be purchased in the First Orlando bookstore. To register by automated phone line, call 407-514-4224.

Topical/General ACTS Classes
8 wks - 1 ½ hrs Training for those interested in working with the special prayer services, intercession room, prayer walking, and other activities sponsored by the Health, Healing and Prayer Team.
10 wks 1 ¼hrs For new believers, seekers, or those who have been away from the church. Conversational environment, exploring faith and experiencing community. Each week a different biblical topic is covered. Materials $10.
4 wks - 1 ½ hrs Specific personal spiritual practices drive one’s spiritual growth. The better we understand these core disciplines and the more consistently we practice them, the more we will develop our walk with Christ.
13 wks - 2 hrs The next step in the Divorce Recovery process, (follows Divorce Care) establishing building blocks necessary for wholeness after divorce. Fee is $30. Further info: 407-514-4328.
7 wks - 1 ½ hrs What matters to God should matter to us! Are there rewards for service? Or retributions for not serving? How much giving is enough? Who are the “least of these?” $10 workbook fee in class.
6 wks - 1 ½ hrs Eight core spiritual beliefs and attitudes serve as “triggers” for spiritual growth. Learn to understand and embrace these to grow as Christians. A great class for new believers.
6 wks - 1 ¼ hrs Ray Vander Laan hosts this video of 13 adventures in the Holy Land and reveals how Israel’s history and Jewish culture has relevance to our modern-day Christian life.
14 wks - 2 hrs A seminar and support group for people who are grieving the death of someone close to them. It is an opportunity to be around other people who understand feelings of grief. Utilizing a workbook, videos and group discussions, participants learn valuable information about recovering from their grief and renewing their hope for the future. Cost is $15.00 in class.
6 wks - 1 hrs What derails us in our spiritual walk, and how do we get back on track? These critical questions will be explored and specific factors will be addressed to help us get “unstuck” in our journey with Christ.
13 wks - 2 hrs Divorce Care for Kids – a ministry to help children of divorced or separated parents process the challenges they face. Fee is $5. To register your child or for more information, please call the Singles Ministry Office: 407-514-4328.
13 wks - 2 hrs Video-based, interactive support and discussion group for those experiencing divorce. Fee is $30. Further info: 407-514-4328.
12 wks - 2 hrs There are 2,350 verses in the Bible that speak to your money matters. Learn what God's word says about spending, debt, saving, earning, budgeting borrowing and giving. 8 wks - 2 hrs Know when to say “yes,” and when to say “no.” Through a DVD series, Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend address issues that confront Christians today. Workbook available in bookstore.
10 wks - 1 ½ hrs See how your unmet needs, belief systems, and poor boundaries influence your emotions. Also learn healthier ways to express and manage your anger. $17 workbook sold in class.
