A QUEEN'S CELEBRATION

A Queens Celebration  is an annual day of ministry to hurting, underprivileged, abused and neglected women in our community.  They may be single mothers or unemployed.  Our desire is to treat them as “Queens” for the day; we give them gently-used clothing appropriate for work accessories, door prizes, hand massages, makeup, serve them a special meal and provide wonderful entertainment.  Our intent is to meet their physical needs and at the same time to meet a spiritual need by telling them, in several different ways, of God’s love for them. Our motto for A Queen's Celebration is “One Day Can Make A Difference.”  We believe that this one day can make an impact on the lives of our guests, as well as impact the volunteers who come to serve them.

Donations to A Queen's Celebration  include, but are not limited to, gift certificates for haircuts, manicures, and pedicures.  We also need business attire (clean and in good condition), jewelry, handbags, and shoes.  Financial gifts are welcomed to help offset the cost of printing, postage, food, etc.  Gifts of toiletry and makeup items are also welcome; we include these in the gift bags which the women take home.   We look forward to working with you in making a difference in the lives of women!

A QUEEN’S CELEBRATION - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

ADMINISTRATIVE

Volunteers are needed who are willing to assist the Women’s Ministries staff during weekday office hours with various tasks such as phone calls, computer skills, etc., related to A Queen’s Celebration.

BOUTIQUE

This is one of the fun jobs!  In addition to helping sort, hang, and display clothing, you will have the privilege of escorting women through the Boutique to help her find two or three outfits with all the accessories.  There’s a little extra work involved, but the rewards are well worth it!

CHILD ENRICHMENT

Loving and nurturing volunteers are needed to assist our Preschool staff in caring for preschoolers (birth to 5 years) while their momsare attending this special event.  This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate God’s love by rocking, singing, and playing with these little ones.

CHILDREN

This is a great opportunity to share Jesus Christ with children whose moms are participating in A Queen’s Celebration. Our Children’s Ministry has a fun day planned for ages K – 5th grade, but we can’t do it without you!

COUNSELOR

All who volunteer for this important ministry will work together with a table hostess to develop relationships with the women at your table.  You will have opportunity to answer questions, share Christ’s love, offer spiritual encouragement and pray with them.  You will work as a team with your assigned table hostess as you lead your guests through each station and boutique, assisting and befriending them for the day.

FOOD

Volunteers (men or women) are needed to serve lunch in the children’s areas, in addition to servers (men) needed for serving tables in the women’s banquet area.

FOLLOW-UP

This is a wonderful opportunity after the event is over to follow-up with the women who have made decisions for Christ, asked for more information or have prayer requests, and provide spiritual encouragement to them. You may volunteer for this opportunity in addition to serving on the day of the event.

GIFTS AND SERVICES

These volunteers are needed to contact area vendors and businesses who would be willing to donate haircuts, hand lotions, toiletry items, cosmetics, accessories, gift certificates, and other items for door prizes and gifts.

GREETERS

As a greeter, you are the first impression our guests receive when they come into the facility.  It is your privilege to give each one a BIG smile and a hearty hello as you welcome them to A Queen’s Celebration.

HANDS

This is a very special one-on-one type of ministry!  Nothing can open the door to share the love of Christ as much as when you sit across the table from a woman and rub lotion on her hands and tell her what Jesus has done in your life.  You don’t have to be a professional; you just need to be willing to share the love of Jesus.

MEN

Even though A Queen’s Celebration is a time of ministry for women, it could never take place without the men to help.  Men are needed the night before, as well as the day of the event to help set up and tear down the Boutique and Banquet areas.  Men are also needed to help with parking, directing traffic, food service, and children’s ministry.

PRAYER

This critical team of men and women will commit to pray daily forA Queen’s Celebration preparation, for the guests who will attend, for the volunteers who will be serving, and for any needs related to the event.

"Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work."  Oswald Chambers

TABLE HOSTESSES

This is an opportunity for women who have the gift of hospitality or encouragement to serve as hostess to 8 guests on the day of the event.  You will be paired with another woman who will be serving as a counselor, and together you will share a meal and time of fellowship around your table.  Also, you will be asked along with the counselor to escort your guests to each station and boutique, assisting them as needed throughout the day.

TRANSLATORS

As a translator, you will move throughout all departments as needed to assist women from other nationalities.  Interpreters for the deaf, translators for Spanish, Portuguese and others are needed to share the love Jesus.
