What does your job involve?
My role is to oversee the Junior High ministry under the leadership of our Student Pastor, Matt Bartig. I get to minister alongside some incredible volunteers to lead students into a relevant and thriving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas but as a ministers kid I spent time in many other places including Springdale, Arkansas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
How large is your family?
There are 5 total. My parents and two younger brothers
When and how did you come to know Christ?
I gave my life to Christ at the age of 7. I had heard about Christ all my life but through talking with my dad and listening to our pastor, realized I needed to put my own faith in Christ for the forgiveness of my sins.
What was your first job?
My first job was working for a Fire Extinguisher and CO2 company in Lakeland, FL.
When and to whom did you marry?
I married Lindsay Ann Cope on August 20, 2005.
How did you get into ministry?
I was called into ministry when I was 14.
Where else have you served (churches, ministries)?
I served as an intern and then as Student Pastor at Keystone Fellowship just outside of Philadelphia for nearly 7 years.
What do you like most about your job?
I love when students have that AHA! moment when they realize that God wants to and can use them to make a difference in their world.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
My favorite verse is Joshua 1:3. It's a promise to Joshua that not only will God be with him but that He has already given him victory in taking the promised land. It's a reminder that no matter how difficult things look or appear, that if God has told us to go, then he has already made the provisions and protection!
What do you like to do with your free time?
I love to watch college football, Woo Pig Sooie! I also like to play guitar, shop with my wife and hang at the beach.
If you weren’t a pastor or on staff here, what would you be doing?
I would probably be a motivational speaker, keeping people from living in vans down by the river.
