Pastor Saeed is an American Pastor serving an eight-year prison sentence in Iran for simply sharing his Christian faith.
September 26 marks the two-year anniversary.
In 2012 he was in Tehran visiting family and finalizing orphanage plans at the Iranian government’s request when he was arrested. Christians around the world are praying for the release of Pastor Saeed and other persecuted Christians.
How To Pray
Today we join Saaed Abedini and others who suffer persecution because of their faith in Jesus, in praying that through their suffering, imprisonment or even death that God will be glorified. We join with those who suffer in praying that
God’s will be done.
Some ways we might join in that prayer:
- His release (Psalm 69:33)
- The Holy Spirit would strengthen him (Ephesians 3:16)
- Physical healing (3 John 1:2)
- Fearlessly sharing Jesus with others (Ephesians 6:20)
- His wife Naghmeh and children Rebekka and Jacob (Philippians 4:19)
If one member suffers, all suffer together. – 1 Corinthians 12:26
Remember those in prison and those who are suffering as if you yourself were suffering. – Hebrews 13:3
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. – Matthew 5:10
Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! – Matthew 5:44
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. – Proverbs 31:8-9
Who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free. – Psalm 146:7
