First Orlando KIDS

Sundays at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30am

First Orlando KIDS offers exciting and intentional programming for birth-5th Grade during our Sunday worship services. Your child will love our combination of large group worship and small group experiences. Each opportunity is designed to help your child grow in their journey of faith in Jesus Christ.

Preschool | Birth- PreK 5

We use the curriculum, Orange – First Look in our preschool environments, it provides a great start to a preschooler’s understanding of who God  is and how much He loves them through an exciting large group experience with singing and dancing and an engaging small group experience with crafts and Bible stories that are centered around 3 important truths:

God made me
God loves me
Jesus wants to be my friend forever

Elementary | Kindergarten-5th Grade

We use the curriculum, Orange – 252 in our Elementary environments, it provides an engaging large group experience with teaching and worship, as well as, developing relationships through small group discussions centered around the truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52

Special Needs | Preschool-Preteen

Our Special Needs programming provides a safe and loving environment where each child with special needs knows that they are valued by God and made in his image. Through stories, activities and relationships they learn that God has a purpose and plan for their lives.

Milestones & Resources

We love partnering with our families during their parenting journey! Below is a map of a child’s development and how you can help your child discover an authentic faith:

Milestones Map for Authentic Faith

Every parent has 936 weeks of influence from the time their child is born until they graduate. Parent Cue helps you count the weeks and connects you with practical things to read, do, or say to help you engage with the heart of your child this week. Designed for parents of babies through high schoolers, these prompts will come in the form of videos and things to talk about in the morning, at mealtime, or while you are cuddling with your toddler or driving in the car. Each week there’s even a Phase Cue to help you understand the developmental phase your child is in today.

KIDS Grow

For families who are serving or attending an on-campus life group, we are excited to offer a 2nd hour option for your child every Sunday at 10am! KIDS Grow groups are a great opportunity for your child to grow deeper in their faith as they focus on scripture memory and defending what they believe!

We are excited to partner with your family, let a volunteer at check-in know that you would like your child to attend Grow.

Child Dedication

Child Dedication is a time for us to celebrate and thank God for the gift of your child. The purpose of Child Dedication is for parents and families to present their child before God and the church, committing to provide the child with an environment of love, peace, and encouragement, as you model what it looks like to follow Jesus.

Rather than baptizing infants or children, we encourage a dedication ceremony, where families celebrate the gift of their child as they publicly commit to raise them in accordance with the Bible and pray for him/her to one day make a personal decision to accept Christ as their Lord.

Our next Child Dedication is Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Volunteer Testimony

“There are so many reasons I serve. One reason I serve because being a part of a family with special needs, I know the value of knowing my kids are in a safe, loving environment with truth being spoken into their lives while I can worship the Lord with peace in my heart. Each and every child is precious and deserves to hear just how much God loves them! I want to be a part of helping every family to experience that same peace and ensuring every child feels seen and loved. Seeing people who serve with the same heart gives my heart with peace and hope.❤️ It’s so hard to capture all the reasons I serve and there are literally a hundred ways it impacts my life, but hope and love are among the greatest of these.”

FAQ

We celebrate baby dedications and do not baptize infants, and baby dedication is not infant baptism. We believe that when people are old enough to understand what it means to put their faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they should have the opportunity to make that choice for themselves. A preschooler is not able to understand sin, forgiveness, the sacrifice our Savior made for us and what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Baby Dedication is about your commitment to lead your child into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, so that as he or she gets older, you are able to guide your child and help him or her understand what that relationship means. We pray that every child, regardless of whether they've been dedicated, will one day respond to the Gospel in faith and make the decision to get baptized.
