Our mentoring program isn’t about literally meeting on your front porch, but about recreating the authentic connections that happen when women gather there. We hope to cultivate life-giving friendships between mature women and younger women, recognizing the beauty and significance of women from different stages and seasons of life coming together to learn from one another.By creating opportunities for mature women of faith to mentor younger women, we align with Scripture as we seek to glorify God through loving and encouraging one another. Join us as we share tips, encouragement, and conversations about the importance of growing together—growing in Christ and growing in community. As a mentor or mentee, you’ll have the chance to meet one-on-one with your person, as well as gather with the group throughout the semester. If you’re looking for a woman to walk alongside you, or if you feel called to shepherd and encourage someone else, this program is for you!
The Front Porch runs from September 2025 to April 2026.
“It has been a blessing to be a vessel of God’s love and grace to my mentee. Being able to listen and spend quality time with her! We went out for lunch with another mentee from the program and made a stronger bond as a sisterhood in Christ! We encouraged each other to continue to be vessels of Gods’ love throughout the program.”
– Barbara Senquiz
“It went really well, we were both very intentional with seeing each other. Always having someone who has been through life guiding me has been amazing! I didn’t expect how different my life could be just by talking to my mentor. There’s no better time to start this program than now!”
– Deterika Williams
“When we’re going through difficult situations, it’s rare to feel grateful — but my mentor reminded me that no matter how chaotic life feels, there’s always something to be thankful for. I struggle with overthinking, and we had many discussions about how to manage it.
If you’re a woman like me who struggles with the idea of letting someone into your life and being vulnerable, or if you feel afraid, my advice is to just give it a try , and trust that God will take care of the rest.”
– Alex Michel
“I was looking for friendship and wisdom in a mentor when I first joined TFP. Through that experience, I then became a Mentor. My relationship with Fernanda continues to blossom. We pray for each other and enjoy our early morning check ins. I knew when I met Fernanda that God had put us together for a reason. As we share our stories and our struggles, we have become closer. It’s my honor to walk beside her through life’s ups and downs. I honestly did not expect to find the friendship that I have found in this group of ladies. This program is the best thing you’ll ever do! Be genuine and open to making new relationships.”
– Dawn Romero
“Dawn became my mentor. How we matched was truly prepared by God, we simply got a connection. During the group meetings she just felt my struggle even when I had no words or my words were short. She has been such a blessing in my life. Every talk, every meeting with her, every prayer, every message just to say “hi there, I’m here” (and some of them at the right moment that I was struggling), a song shared as an answer for a hard time (and yes, we have a theme song!), she is always ready to listen me, without judgments. And even to talk about simple things of life, she is always there for me. God really used Dawn to calm down my heart, speak with me and helped me my faith grow.”
– Fernanda Baio
“I became Ruth’s mentor. It was a wonderful experience. Ruth patiently endures my limitations with the language and listens to my thoughts — even when she may not agree — with a heart that brings everything to prayer and remains sensitive to the voice of the Spirit. If I ask her to take a step, she not only takes it — she goes far beyond it. She has one of the sharpest theological minds I have ever seen. She carries an inner strength that, when centered in Christ, becomes a firm and inspiring pillar. It will be an honor to witness her growth in Christ. Without a doubt, she is a natural-born leader.”
– Alejandra Scarlis
“Long story short 😊, my mentor is a gift. A wonderful, godly woman. Through this journey, I haven’t just gained a mentor, I’ve gained a friend, a spiritual mother, a leader, and a confidant. When I joined this group, I was in a difficult season. I was longing for support and guidance from a mature woman of faith. I can say with all sincerity that I am more than satisfied, I am beyond grateful. God knew exactly what I needed when He brought Alejandra into my life. Her mentorship has helped me better understand my walk with Jesus and how to live out my faith more intentionally each day. I thank Him for her obedience, her strength, and her heart. She has truly been a blessing.”
– Ruth Baptiste
“I was looking forward to learn from my mentor, gain spiritual strength, consistency with reading God’s Word, to hear encouraging words and to share thoughts about the way God has spoken in her life. My mentor is very sweet and easy to talk to. She encouraged me to read the book of John to experience a closer understanding of the love of God. I could come to her with experiences of my daily life and we could see together the way God has worked to show me his purpose.”
– Anel Couzo
“What led me to join this program was my desire to encourage and help strengthen other women by mentoring them while they go through ups and downs in their journey. Every time my mentee called to ask for prayer or shared her fears, we were able to look for peace in God’s word and insight. I’ve been able to become a better listener, and identify hidden feelings that my mentees can’t express. The advice I would offer anyone joining this program is: find how the Lord can help you help someone who’s walking the same path or journey you have been through. You’ll find yourself being blessed by blessing others.”
