Prayer

Use the scriptures and prayer prompts below to join us in praying for the city, state, and world as Hurricane Idalia approaches.

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

THOSE IN NEED: Pray for a supernatural movement of the storm to weaken before landfall. Pray for peace to fill people as they prepare and bunker down. Pray for wisdom to know when and how to move about afterward. Pray for survivors to receive help in their circumstances.

THOSE RESPONDING: Pray for first responders as they leave their loved ones to help others. Pray for volunteers to be equipped and meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Pray for shelters to be fully staffed and a safe haven. Pray for everyone to be a “Good Neighbor” and extend love and grace.

THOSE IN CHARGE: Pray for local officials to give reliable information and clear instructions. Pray for local pastors and church leaders to make good decisions to help people. Pray for FEMA, the Florida Governor, and Disaster Relief Teams to expedite cleanup. Pray for civil order and calm to cover our city.

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 20:1

Your Church, Loving Orlando & the World

As we continue to prepare for the storm, we want you to know how God’s enabled us to practically partner:

  • As a staging site for local utilities to help restore power to Orlando after the storm.
  • Once they are activated, with the Red Cross and Orange County to serve as shelter sites.
