WinterCon

February 13-15th, 2026

At First Orlando, our greatest goal is to help facilitate an environment where students can be with Jesus, be with friends, and be equipped to live out their faith in everyday life. This year, we aim to do just that by introducing a brand new event that will hopefully help your student experience God in a new way!

At WinterCon, we’ll use authentic worship, Biblical teaching, and profound small group discussion to help your student hear from God and learn how to do what He says! This will be an amazing opportunity to grow in Biblical community by bonding with other students in their adult-led gender- and grade-specific small groups, while engaging with God in a powerful way. WinterCon will be a time to worship God, grow with friends, and have a ton of fun!

WinterCon will be held at the John Young Campus of First Orlando.

Medical Consent Form

All attendees under the age of 18 are required to fill out the mandatory Medical and Consent Release form for participation in any extended Student Ministry event. This form asks for certain information that’s crucial to ensuring your student’s safety. We need to collect vital medical data in order to make sure we can respond properly in the event of a medical emergency.

For the best and fastest experience at check-in on event day, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you take some time to fill out this form BEFORE February 13, 2026.

Sponsor a Student

As our team prays and prepares for WinterCon this year, we look forward to seeing God work in the lives of every student who joins us. Unfortunately some students who would like to attend are unable to pay the registration cost to attend. We never want finances to be a roadblock to a student experiencing deep connection with their community and their Savior, so we are asking you to partner with us to help ensure every student has the opportunity to do so!

If you are able, we would greatly appreciate any donation to help a student make it to WinterCon 2026. Your donation will go directly to help reduce a student’s registration cost which, in turn, will allow them to attend a weekend where they may experience deep connection with Jesus and their community on a whole new level! Any donation, regardless of how large or small, will go towards making a life-changing difference in a student’s life. Frequently Asked Questions

No, WinterCon will not be overnight. While we will be meeting throughout the entire weekend, parents will be expected to pick up and drop off their student each day.
WinterCon is a completely original event. For Surge each year, we would partner with another organization that would help program some of the elements of our events, like services and activities. As such, there would be other students ministries present and we were unable to make certain changes to the event. However, WinterCon is an original event curated just for First Orlando Students to help our students grow!
Unlike Camp Orlando or Winter Retreat, WinterCon will be held at the John Young Campus of First Orlando. Parents will drop off and pick up their students each day and all activities will be held at the JY Campus.
Yes, your student can bring their medication to WinterCon, but they will NOT be allowed to carry it with them if they are under the age of 18. For the safety of all students, we do not allow minors to carry or have access to any kind of medication (over the counter or prescribed) aside from emergency medication (asthma inhalers, diabetic insulin, EpiPens, etc.) at any extended Student Ministry event. We always have a nurse available to tend to students accordingly and help students take their medication as prescribed. On the day of check-in, we will have a table for you to submit your student's medication to our nurses. If your student needs to bring their prescribed medication, please bring it with you and stop by to see our nurse(s). You will have the chance to meet your student’s nurse, exchange contact information if you would like, and be asked to fill out a paper with information on their medication (including the time and dosage it must be taken at). Please talk to your student and make sure they also remember their medication info.

Student small group information will be shared closer to the first day of WinterCon. Our team will try our best to send out group information within the week before check-in so you and your student have time to connect with their assigned small group leader(s). As with any of our other events, group assignment for WinterCon will follow a strict set of guidelines. Students will be placed in groups based on their gender and grade. Boys and girls are NEVER placed in the same group, and students will be grouped with other students in their same grade. We also try to adhere to what we have determined to be a safe ratio of students and leaders in each group. Typically, this means having at most 6 students for every group leader. With two co-leaders per group, that means most of our groups will be capped at 12 students.
At WinterCon lunch, dinner, and multiple snacks will be provided each day. We will provide a mixture of food ordered from outside sources as well as meals prepared by our wonderful Food Services Team. If your student has any sort of allergy, food intolerance, or other dietary restriction, please provide details on their registration form when asked. We always have allergy-conscious options available at any event where food is provided, but we encourage you to have a conversation with your student at home and remind them of any specific foods to avoid. If your student is unsure of the contents of a meal during WinterCon, please instruct them to ask their small group leader or one of our First Orlando Students Staff members directly.
