The Initiative of Love

Read: 1 John 4:10 “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

Reflect: Love began with God. It was His initiative, His action that sent Jesus into our world. During Advent, we recognize that our ability to love is only because God first loved us and made a way for us to be reconciled to Him.

Pray: God, thank You for taking the first step in loving us. May Your love inspire us to love others genuinely and sacrificially. Amen.

Step: Write a note of gratitude for someone who has demonstrated God’s love to you in a meaningful way.
